Department for Communities is holding a workshop for older people, disabled people and their organisations to discuss two public realm schemes planned for Belfast. The workshop will be held on the 5th February 2019 from 1.30pm to 4pm. The venue for the workshop is now confirmed as the Clayton Hotel which is on Ormeau Avenue in Belfast City Centre (opposite the BBC).
The public realm schemes to be discussed are:
– Changes to the Queen’s Squarearea of the city centre beside Custom House Square. This is an important street with bus and Glider stops, access to Laganside Buscentre and from the city centre to the Lagan Weir and footbridge to the Titanic Quarter.
– A major public realm scheme for the Clifton Gatewayarea of Belfast following the route of Donegall Street beginning at its junction with York Street, continuing along Clifton Street to the Crumlin Road and ending at the Agnes Street junction and includes Donegall Lane, Union Street (part), North Queens Street (part), Henry Place and Carlisle Circus.
