If you are a Personal Assistant (PA) employer in receipt of a direct payment, you will be funded by your Health Trust to pay the costs of employing your PA. From 1st April 2019, the amount of money you will have to pay into your (PA)’s workplace pension will rise from 2% to 3% of their gross wage. Your PA will also see their minimum contribution go up from 3% to 5%.
If you use the CILNI payroll service, then the percentage increase will be automatically applied to the wages of eligible PAs. Your local Health Trust should factor this increase into your support budget. If you need advice on the impact of this change to your budget them please contact an ILA.
